Bulldog Training Guide & Tips

If you’re like most bulldog owners that just acquired a bulldog puppy, you probably noticed that your little pup loves to bite and chew on everything around him. Most bulldogs develop an excessive biting and chewing habit from an early age which can last up until the bulldog has fully matured, and sometimes even longer. This is absolutely nothing you should punish your little puppy for.

Remember that your bulldog puppy is very intelligent and you should use that intelligence to your favor in the training process.

How to Stop My Bulldog Puppy from Biting & Chewing

If left untrained, bulldog biting may cause more severe problems in the future so it must not be overlooked! I highly recommend acquiring the Bulldog Training Secrets book that will teach you everything you need to know about training bulldog puppies, including biting and chewing.

Your bulldog puppy needs to learn that it’s not okay to bite and chew on the carpet, sofa, or the furniture around the house. To do that, you need to use positive reinforcement training methods. What that means is, instead of punishing your bulldog puppy for chewing on your shoes or biting your hands – you praise and provide treats for your puppy for doing something right.

In due time, your puppy will know that if he or she is doing something wrong, no praise or treat will be provided. Puppies like receiving praise from their owners, and they will do just about anything to receive it.

The book covers these aspects in more details on how to successfully accomplish it. You will finally be able to train your bulldog puppy how to be obedient and listen to all of your commands. That can absolutely be achieved.

Can I Train My Bulldog Without a Trainer?

This is out of the question! Most bulldog owners wish they could train their puppies but don’t know where to start, so they end up taking them to a trainer and wasting a ton of money. I do not recommend any other trainer for your bulldog puppy other than yourself. Training time with your bulldog puppy should be your bonding time so don’t miss out on that.

Besides, most trainers still use the old training method of “fear” to quickly gain results from your puppy. The puppy will obey while the trainer is around, but after the trainer emptied your pockets and left, your bulldog puppy will soon go to the same old behavior it used to be before the trainer arrived. This happens all the time, and the trainers will never permanently train your puppy because 1) it’s their business and they need recurring customers, and 2) the bulldog will never completely listen to the person who didn’t train the dog, either through fear, or through praise and positive reinforcement.

So if you REALLY want to train your bulldog puppy to obey you and listen to your commands for good without wasting thousands of dollars on professional trainers and training classes, then you need to rethink what’s best for your puppy. If you really care and love your puppy, you will train him or her by yourself.
